Mga higala! The construction of the 3.7-kilometer Panguil Bay Bridge (PBB) which will connect Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, and Tubod City, Lanao del Norte, will finally begin this November and is expected to be complete by October 2021.
These details were recently disclosed by Vinah Jeanne Maghinay, the spokesperson of DPWH-10. Maghinay also added that the Panguil Bay Bridge will shorten travel time between the mentioned provinces to seven minutes.
In case you don’t know, it currently takes 1 hour and a half to travel from Tubod to Tangub and vice versa, with the help of ocean-going vessels.
Moreover, PBB’s original cost was pegged at P4.858 billion but eventually ballooned to P7.352 billion as a result of peso-dollar exchange rate movement, which rose from USD1=PHP42.71 to USD1=PHP52.00 over a span of four years.
