23 Jan Councilor Zaldy Ocon Refuses To Leave Office Despite Suspension

According to a report by Bombo Radyo, Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Zaldy Ocon refuses to vacate his position despite the 6-month suspension given by the Office of the Ombudsman.
This was shown by Ocon when he attended the 70th session of the 18th City Council yesterday, January 22, 2018.
Ocon defended this action stating that he can’t neglect his duties as a public servant because of this suspension and since he hasn’t received the suspension order from DILG-10 yet.
As some of us may know, Ocon was suspended due to a report stating that he slapped Ric Emmanuel Agustin, an RTA member. This happened after he was ticketed by Agustin due to a parking violation at Cogon Market last 2016.
