06 Nov COWD Notifies Public on Possible Rounds of Water Interruptions
Engineer Bienvenido Batar Jr., General Manager of the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD), has notified the water district’s customers on the western part of the city to stock water ahead of time to prepare for the possibility of another round of water shortage.
In an article from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, the impending water interruptions is due to the rejection of the COWD to the request of its main bulk water supplier, the Rio Verde Water Consortium, for a water rate increase which will be used in part for the repair works of its damaged underwater pipe across the Cagayan de Oro River.
Rio Verde Senior Vice President for Operations, Engineer Joffrey Batar Jr., said that if there is any occurrence of water interruption in the city, the water district should be the one to be blamed.
He also likewise reminded the public to store water ahead of time while they are fixing the problem and assured that they will fix it before any aberration will happen.
