In an article posted by Sunstar.com, a medical outreach program will be organized by the Oro Citizens’ Wellness and Development Center (OCWDC) of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) for the recovering drug dependents tomorrow morning, November 24 at Cagayan de Oro City Hall Mini Park.

This event is in line with the celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week that started last Monday, November 20 and will end with a culminating program tomorrow, November 24 at Centrio Ayala Mall event center.

The aim of the week-long program is to spread awareness to the public that despite the increasing problems regarding the issue of drug addiction, there is still hope for people who lost faith in the world after encountering their dark days.

According to the Head of OCWDC Rhyselle Bernadette Melliza-Descallar, there will be six doctors from the City Health Office and City Health Insurance Office who will provide medical services to the recovering drug dependents, their families, significant others, and the community-based managers/barangay volunteers who are currently helping the program.

To make the event more festive, during the opening of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week celebration, products like fruits, vegetables, crafts, etc. were displayed in Gaston Park from the booths of different barangays in Cagayan de Oro.

Hopefully, all this effort will help our affected kababayans so that there will be more improvement in the lives of drug addiction victims.
