08 May 60 Street children in CDeO were rescued by City’s Social Welfare and Dev’t Office
From ABS-CBN news article, last Friday night (May 5, 2017), the police officers and representatives of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) rescued 60 street children.
The administrator searched for the homeless children in the parks and other areas in the city and they also found few families sleeping in the streets.
The operation was in line with the implementation of the curfew hours for the minors.
According to the police officers, despite the curfew implemented, they still see an increased number of children involved minor crimes.
The rescued children were brought to Cagayan de Oro Police Headquarters and will be transferred to Mother Theresa Home for Children in Upper Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City.
