15 Oct CUMC Files Cyber Libel Charge Against Netizen Who Ranted On Facebook
Mga higala! The Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC) is now in the process of filing a cyber libel charge against netizen– “Rasha Elle II”, for posting derogatory and demeaning statements about their hospital and staff on social media!
According to their official statement, the said netizen posted about having a bill of P100,000 or more and complained about the alleged incompetence of CUMC’s medical staff.
“Such derogatory and demeaning statements have elicited and caused further negative comments against CUMC that reached 1,100 shares and 1,700 reactions, thereby subjecting CUMC’s good name and image in the community, to ill will and disrepute.”
CUMC’s statement then emphasized that it is a Level 2 training hospital and a vital healthcare facility that has been serving the community for the last 47 years. It also defended its staff saying that it is composed of licensed and competent healthcare professionals who aim to provide the best patient care.
