16 Mar DA Detects H5N6 Bird Flu In The Philippines
Mga higala! The Department of Agriculture (DA) has reported that the highly pathogenic H5N6 avian influenza or bird flu has been detected in Jaen, Nueva Ecija (Central Luzon)!
According to Agriculture Secretary William Dar, this particular bird flu strain can potentially affect humans but has not infected anyone in the country so far.
“Globally, there have been only a few cases of human infections and all of these were reported in China,” Dar added.
