01 Jun DENR turns over P3.2M multi-purpose building to MisOr government
A P3.2 Million multi-purpose building funded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Northern Mindanao (DENR-10) has been turned over to the government of Misamis Oriental to boost one of the province’s eco-tourism parks, the Lasang Nature Park in the Municipality of Initao.
In an article from Sunstar.com, Provincial Tourism Officer, Yvonne Waga, said that the building will serve as a venue for seminars, conferences, and meetings, She also said that it will also be beneficial to visitors who are having seminars that last for days since it is not far from the airport and it provides a favorable ambiance.
She also added that the new building will contribute to the improvement of tourism in the province, particularly in Lasang Nature Park as it will also help accommodate tourists and visitors going around the park.
Board Member Gerardo Sabal said that completing the facility will greatly improve the park and will increase appreciation of virgin forests like the Lasang Nature Park.
Opened to the public in the late 2000s, Lasang Nature Park contains a lot of nature-trekking activities along with the presence of essential facilities such as campsites, barbecue pits, picnic tables, restrooms, and cottages.
