28 May DepEd To Hire 33,000 New Public School Teachers This 2019

Mga higala! Good news! According to Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla, the Department of Education (DepEd) is looking to hire 33,000 new public school teachers this 2019!
During the launch of Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) yesterday, May 27, Sevilla said that there are currently 10,000 new teaching posts and 23,000 teaching vacancies all over the country.
Sevilla then added that they were not able to immediately hire for the vacant teaching positions earlier this year, because they were waiting for the approval from the 2019 GAA [General Appropriations Act]. However, they’ve been recently informed by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) that DepEd can now start the process.
