DILG Urges LGUs To Ban Karaoke & Caroling This Christmas Season

Mga higala! The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is now urging local government units (LGUs) to ban karaoke and caroling activities this Christmas season!

This aims to aim to prevent a possible surge of COVID-19 cases during the holidays, especially with unchecked gatherings between families and friends.

“While we want you to enjoy Christmas together with your families, there are certain activities we discourage you to do because these are activities that could possibly spread the COVID-19 virus,” said DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing.

DILG Interior Secretary Eduardo Año also stressed in a recent interview that loud singing, like karaoke and caroling, is more infectious than normal talking.

ICYDK, loud singing increases particle spread by around 448%.
