06 Nov Dimaporo Urges Government to Convert Balo-I Airport Into A Military Base

In an article posted by Manila Bulletin, Lanao del Norte Representative Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo is urging the Duterte Administration to make modifications on the Balo-I Airport (Maria Christina Airport) so that it will turn into a military base to strengthen the security throughout the Lanao areas.
He added that the since the airport has been closed for quite some time after the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental started its operation, it is just time to turn it into a Air Force Base that will improve the strength of security around the said area.
Dimaporo said that it would greatly help the area since it is often the subject of attacks from armed groups such as the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Maute terrorist group which has been recently defeated by government forces.
