DOH Chief Ubial inspects JR Borja General Hospital on readiness re: Marawi Siege

In an article from Philippines News Agency, the Department of Health (DOH) Chief, Paulyn Jean Ubial, spearheaded the inspection of JR Borja General Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City last Friday, June 2. The inspection of the government hospital was to check its preparedness in the events of victims and casualties from the ongoing Marawi siege going to the facility to seek immediate medical help.

During Secretary Ubial’s visit, she found out that all the doctors, nurses, and other workers in the hospital are already on “Code White” alert and were already on standby for a possible influx of patients especially those who will be coming from Marawi City.

Acting hospital chief, Dr. Ramon Neri, said that the hospital conducted an emergency bloodletting activity last Friday to ensure that there is enough blood in storage for the victims of the Marawi attacks.

It was also reported that the hospital has also been helping in providing blood to the wounded soldiers of the Philippine Army who are now recuperating at the Fourth Infantry Battalion headquarters.
