Drug Pusher Shot Dead in Drug Operation At Barangay Tablon

On September 15, Thursday afternoon at Purok 1-A Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City, police officers killed a suspected drug personality during a sting operation.

The officers from the Detective Management Desk (DMD) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and policemen from Police Station 10 killed the suspect identified as Marter Coning.

Coning once surrendered to authorities for the PNP’s Oplan Tokhang (Toktok-Hangyo), it was said that he resisted arrest and fired at the police officers.

The suspect pulled a gun and was about to fire at the acting buyer after noticing the presence of the raiding team, said Chief Inspector Harvey Abellanosa, DMD Chief.

Abellanosa stated, “Nibunot kini siya sa armas niaksyon og pusil pero naunhan sa atong tropa. Nidagan pa man ni siya ug nitago sa usa ka balay and then nagpabuto na pud sa tropa may gani ang isa nakalikay hangtod nidagan kini paingon sa creek ug didto na nalukong ug nakabsan sa kinabuhi.”

Two caliber 38, an improvised 22 revolver and various sizes of sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated by the police.

Abellanosa said, “Kamulo pa inventory sa mga nakuha nga pakete sa shabu. Tan-aw nako siya gayud source dinhi nga area. Natokhang nani sa Puerto unya nibalihin dinhi.”

The suspect was also involved in robbery incidents in the city, Chief Inspector Evan Viñas, Police Station 10 chief said.

Viñas said, “Nalambigit kini sa mga modus sama sa pagpangholdap. Linya niya kadtong sa Cepalco nga pagpanulis. Gi-monitor na nato ni.”

Coning was the 6th drug personality killed in the city.
