18 Aug Drug Suspect in Tagoloan, Killed!
On August 16, Tuesday night at Zone 1, Buguak, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, a drug buy-bust operation commenced and another drug suspect was killed as he was resisting arrest.
32-year-old Joey Taca-taca, one of the drug personalities who surrendered to the police during “Oplan Tokhang” was reported by chief investigator of Tagoloan Municipal Police Station, SPO4 Tawide Galleon.
Last August 15, Zaldy Dimaporo was murdered and Taca-taca was proved to be the suspect for killing according to an initial investigation. Dimaporo was Taca-taca’s accomplice in illegal drug trade.
A conflict over the share of illegal drugs was the reason for Taca-taca to stab and kill Dimaporo, Galleon said. He stated, “Gidagan dayon ni Taca-taca ang bag nga nagsulod ug unom ka sako nga shabu. Naa dayon intelligence nga kadto daw nga shabu gi-recycle niya, so we decided to conduct a buy-bust operation against him.”
Taca-taca urged the police officers to shoot him as he pulled the safety pin of a grenade he kept inside his pocket. Galleon said, “Before siya maka-cause ug damage sa katawhan, amo nalang siyang gipusil kay na-alanganin man kita.” Taca-taca suffered from two gunshot wounds.
Grenade, drug money worth P200 and four sachets of shabu were retrieved from the suspect.
Taca-taca was supposed to be in jail last year since his live-in partner filed a case against him saying that he violated the Republic Act 9262 or the Violence Against Women and Children act. He was also known to be a theft and snatcher.
There were reports in Tagoloan that there are about 16 drug-related killings in the area. During police operations, 2 were killed and the other 14 are still under investigation as there were no suspects identified.
The 2 individuals were, Melvin “Alo” Tadeo and Crisanto Albarizo Flores. Tadeo was killed last July 16 and Flores on August 3 for they were resisting arrest.
An investigation by the Provincial Board on the drug-related killings will commence in the region.
