DTI Reminds Online Sellers To Disclose Prices Of Products Not “PM Sent”

Mga higala! A regional office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently posted a reminder telling online sellers to display the prices of their respective products, instead of using “PM sent” or “PM is the key”, in accordance with Republic Act 7394 or The Consumer Act of the Philippines!

“HINDI COOL ang PM SENT sa online selling! Gawing smooth ang iyong transaction kaya ilagay na ang presyo ng produktong binebenta mo.” said DTI Sultan Kudarat.

ICYDK, it is stated in Article 81 that “It shall be unlawful to offer any consumer product for retail sale to the public without an appropriate price tag, label or marking publicly displayed to indicate the price of each article and said products shall not be sold at a price higher than that stated therein and without discrimination to all buyers.”

However, this R.A. doesn’t specify guidelines about online selling, since it was made in 1992.

Maybe the government should update this law. What do you think of this higala?
