01 Jun Duterte: P3 Million Bounty for Drug Lords!
On a press conference last Tuesday, May 31, President-elect Rodrigo Duterte shared his plan of giving a P3 million reward for the arrest or death of drug lords.
“May P3 million ako sa mga druglords. I’m not saying you kill them but the order is ‘dead or alive,” said Duterte.
Duterte’s plan of halting the spread of drugs in 3 to 6 months is attainable said Philippine National Police chief Ronald Dela Rosa.
Duterte said that the law enforcers should also deliver his request according to the law. He said, “Pagka sinabi kong dead or alive. Alam nila kung tumaas ang kamay, talagang alive ‘yan. Pagka lumaban, edi dead ‘yan.”
“They are lectured upon and they learn a lot, it’s a subject. When to kill and when not to kill. When is it legal to kill, when is it unlawful to take another man’s life,” he also added.
The bounty will then be given to the National Bureau of Investigation.
For other drug-related personalities but not drug lords, lesser offer will be given. “Itong terrorizing, supervising na dorogista, you get about P2 million. Kung sa second echelon lang ‘yan, P1 million…Ordinaryo, P50,000,” he said.
Duterte has the pot money for sure but its amount is still unknown. He said, “There’s enough money left. I do not want to get hold of it for too long. Basta may pera at hindi ko ninakaw. ‘Yan ang gamitin ko. I’ll dispose of that money.”
He ended with a serious tone of voice, giving a warning to the drug lords, he said, “Do not destroy my country because I will kill you. Do not destroy the youth of the land, our children, because I will kill you.”
