10 May Duterte Visits Parents’ Tombs, Cries asking for Help To Lead the Nation
Leading presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte visited his parents’ tombs early Tuesday morning accompanied by his partner Honeylet Avanceña and their daughter Veronica.
At 3:00 AM, he stood before the tombs of his father Vicente who was governor of Davao, and his mother Soledad who was a school teacher, and wept. The mayor was then overheard asking for his parents’ to help him in leading the nation when he becomes President this coming June 30.
Duterte was known to be close to his mother.
Earlier, Duterte attended a television interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name church which is founded in Davao, before heading to the cemetery.
The Davao City Mayor then greeted the residents within the vicinity after he lit candles at his parent’s tombs.
As of today at 6:30 AM, partial and unofficial results coming directly from the transparency server of the Commission on Elections showed Duterte being favored with 15,014,524 voters followed by Mar Roxas with 9,005,569 votes and Senator Grace Poe at 8,413,679.
Night of Monday, May 9, Poe conceded in a quick press conference, who then called Duterte through the phone.
