Duterte Dominates Latest Cagayan de Oro Presidential Survey!

On Wednesday, May 4, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan Kinaadman Research Center (KRC)’s survey of the Presidential race in Cagayan de Oro City reveals that a significant lead is up for the Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte against his rivals.

Even all the voters who chose the other 4 counterparts of Duterte combined; he still leads by a whopping 20%!

Recorded as 59% on voter’s preference, Duterte can snatch a landslide win in the city! The survey is conducted on April 25-26, after the third and final Philippine presidential debate.

The distant second place in the Survey is Senator Grace Poe with 16%. Trailing her is Liberal Party standard-bearer Manuel Roxas II with 13%.

Vice President Jejomar Binay is now at 9% while the health-plagued Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago placed last with only 1%, that’s lesser than the undecided voters who are recorded at 2%.

The survey included 1,000 respondents, 473 from District 1 and 527 from District 2, all of which are registered voters and has biometrics. The survey has a margin of error of +/- 3% and has a 95% confidence level.

For the Vice-Presidential race, Bong Bong Marcos and Leni Robredo are tied at 28%. Both of them increased significantly from the previous poll conducted by KRC. Marcos and Robredo only got 21% and 17% respectively in that survey almost 2 months ago.

Placing third is Duterte’s running mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano with 22%. Trailing Cayetano is Escudero with only 11% who is previously at 21%. Gringo Honasan is at the 5th spot with 4%. Antonio Trillanes IV went last at 2%.

Cagayan de Oro City (CDO), the capital of Misamis Oriental has a total of 305,321 registered voters.

In the previous elections in 2013, the city paraded an 80.61% voter turnout, that’s above the overall country average.

Known as the “Gateway to Northern Mindanao”, CDO is the regional center and central business hub of Region X who has 2.46 million registered voters for the May 9 elections.
