20 Aug President Duterte Issues P5 Million Reward For Each Dead Police Involved in Illegal Drugs

Mga higala! President Rodrigo Duterte has issued a bounty of 5 Million Pesos for the heads of police officers involved in illegal drugs. This was announced last Friday, August 17.
According to an article by CNN Philippines, the president stated during a speech in Davao City that, “Kung dalhin mo ‘yan sakin patay, ₱ 5 million. Pag buhay bigyan kita diyes mil (₱10,000).”
[Translation: “If you bring him to me dead, ₱5 million. If you bring him to me alive I’ll give you ₱10,000.”]
But, he also clarified that he is not asking for people to kill these cops, “Wala akong sinabing patayin mo, pero pag dinala mong buhay bigyan kitang diyes mil,” he said.
[Translation: “I did not say you should kill, but if you bring them to me alive I’ll give you ₱10,000.”]
However, President Duterte also expressed that cops who are involved in the use and operation of illegal drugs have 48 hours to surrender (and it has been around 60 hours now).
