03 Feb President Duterte Orders Implementation of Total Log Ban After Massive Flooding in Mindanao

During the Climate Change Commission en banc meeting held last January 31, 2017, Tuesday, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the implementation of a total log ban following the recent massive flooding in Mindanao. According to Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, the said order was told to Environment Secretary Gina Lopez.
Also, a formation of a committee was also ordered by President Duterte to be composed of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, as contained in a statement by presidential spokesperson Secretary Ernesto Abella. This tripartite convergence committee will be having a meeting come February 6, 2017, Monday.
