19 May Duterte Returned Excess Fund for His Presidential Campaign to Donors
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s integrity is shown in his latest act of returning excess campaign donations back to the donors.
Fouled-mouth as what many coined him to be, but his heart is compassionate to the poor. What you see in him is what you get in him.
A member of Duterte’s presidential campaign team, Marion Raagas posted on his Facebook wall a photo of bank checks that is poised to be returned to the donors.
His post reads, “Campaign Fund Contribution REFUND
What greeted me this morning as I walk into my office was a bunch of checks that I need to sign. These checks represent the pro-rated amounts of excess campaign fund contributions for Duterte campaign team (coursed thru Anonymous Patriots). I suppose this is the first time in our country’s history that excess campaign funds are voluntarily returned to generous campaign contributors. Normally, traditional politicians just pocket the difference or perhaps fund handlers just “split the loot” amongst themselves. It is also interesting to note that Mayor Duterte himself has repeatedly turned down financial contributions (regardless of amount) if fund contributor is identified to have corrupt practices or have questionable integrity. I have been a direct witness to this. Change is not coming. CHANGE is already HAPPENING!”
Such act is another untraditional yet noble deed by Duterte compared to the fraudulent acts where most of the politicians are guilty.
It seems that the mutual connection between Duterte and his supporters are growing. Many are waiting too that the growth will also translate in the country’s prosperity soon.
