02 May Duterte Supporter Shot Inside His Own House in Cagayan de Oro

Morning of May 1, leading presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte’s supporter, Gomer Piluton, was killed inside his own house in Cagayan de Oro.
Piluton was shot five times, all of the gunshots buried in his chest, which killed him on the spot by two unidentified men who entered his home when he was about to open hi sari-sari store in Barangay Bayanga. This was according to police investigator PO2 Jeramy Valmorez.
The suspects then fled via boarding a motorcycle.
The authorities have yet to find a motive for the killing but Elsie Casing, the victim’s common law wife said that her husband’s murder may have been motivated involving politics adding that Piloton recently argued with another presidential candidate’s supporter. Also, the PDP-Laban in Cagayan de Oro believes that a political rival may have been behind the murder.
Piloton was a local volunteer leader of Duterte’s campaign in the city which will commence tomorrow, May 3, in the city and was set to meet with other Duterte supporters neighboring villages before he was killed.
