25 Feb Duterte Hit Back Asking Roxas: Why Give Me an Award If I Failed on Repressing Drugs in Davao City?
After Mar Roxas’s allegedly stated that there were still places in Davao City where could buy illegal drugs, on Wednesday, Duterte asked the Liberal Party standard bearer about why gave him a Seal of Good Local Governance for his services in Davao City last year 2015 by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) if he had failed in repressing drugs in Davao City.
As what Duterte told reporters, “Why did he give me an award one month before, best governance? Itong tala-tala (stupid) na ito nag-imbento. Kita mo itong style na ito? Suplado. Señorito.”
The award was even signed by Roxas, who was the secretary of the DILG that time.
“Parang sinulatan niya ang sarili niya. Bakit niya ako sulatan? Hindi ako pulis. At hindi naman namin kontrol diyan ang pulis. Ang may kontrol diyan, DILG pati iyong [PNP] director,” Duterte said.
In a letter sent by Roxas to Duterte, it was included there that 72 out of 180 barangays in Davao are heavily drug-infested” based from the data given by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
As a reply, Duterte said, “maniwala ka diyan kay Roxas. Sa kanya buong Pilipinas. Nag-iimbento lang ang mama… Hindi kami nasyonal. Ako pahawakin niya ng national.”
“Unahin mo ang Pilipinas. Ang Davao porous iyan, ‘di ko mapigilan sinong papasok doon. Merong droga? Meron! Pero doon, at least ako may ginagawa. Patay. Ikaw, ilan ang pinapatay mo dito?” he added.
