28 Dec Duterte Postpones Visit In Marawi
In an article posted by Sunstar.com, due to bad weather, President Rodrigo Duterte was not able to make his scheduled visit in Marawi and lead the turnover ceremony of temporary shelters for the displaced residents of Barangay Sagonsongan, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Instead, Duterte went directly to Tubod, Lanao del Norte to personally listen to the reports of the Provincial Government regarding the damages brought by Bagyong Vinta.
Meanwhile, the turnover ceremony in Marawi was successfully conducted and led by the head of Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) HUDCC Secretary Eduard Del Rosario.
And according to Assistant Secretary Felix Castro, field office manager of TFBM, instead of 500 units, they were only able to turnover 250 of the temporary shelters. The remainder will be given by the month of January. This was because some of the shelters still need to be finished with plumbing, power lines, etc.
Further, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has also constructed another 300 temporary shelters that will be turned over to the affected residents of Tropical Storm Vinta in Matungao, Lanao del Norte.
