04 Mar Duterte visits wake of 2 fallen soldiers in CDO
President Rodrigo Duterte visited yesterday, March 3, Cagayan de Oro City to pay his last respects to two soldiers who were killed in a running battle with the communist New People’s Army in Misamis Oriental.
Duterte condoled the family of Cpl. Marzon Morales, and Pvt. Oshin Rosala, both of the 58th Infantry Battalion, based in Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
The president arrived past 6:00 p.m. at the Loyola Chapel inside the army camp and talked with the families of the slain soldiers.
Four others were wounded during a confrontation with the NPA soldiers last Monday in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental. They were confined in the Army hospital and was conferred by the president with military wounded medals.
The clashes which left two soldiers dead came in the wake of NPA attacks on a power plant site last Saturday in Bukidnon.
