06 Feb Duterte Attends Wake of 3 Fallen Soldiers in Cagayan de Oro

It was reported last February 1, 2017 that three soldiers identified as Cpl. Pat Non, 40, Cpl. Niño Christopher Talabor, 29, and Sgt. Owen Yee, 39, who were members of the 8th Infantry Battalion’s Bayanihan group were killed in an ambush by the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Sitio Kaleb, Barangay Kibalabag in Malabalay Sity, Bukidnon.
And to honor the heroism of the fallen soldiers, Duterte visited their wake in Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro last February 5, 2017, Sunday. Military Merit Medals with bronze anahaw leaf were personally handed by Duterte to the wives of the victims.
Following the communist rebel’s withdrawal of its declared unilateral ceasefire with the government, Duterte then announced that he is withdrawing the unilateral ceasefire of the government last February 3, 2017, Friday.
