11 Oct Duterte Meets Police of Western Mindanao, Distributes Aid to Farmers and LGUs
In the afternoon of October 10, 2016, Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte arrived at the Police Regional Office in Zamboanga City and met with top military and police officials in western Mindanao in a closed door command conference.
He spoke before the police officers mentioning his war on drugs, his pet issue, and his concerns about losing two policemen a day.
He will also have a “talk to the men” session with some 500 police forces to be held at an open multi-purpose hall. He will then be presented with 8 individuals and groups tagged as local heroes for victorious drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula.
The president then proceeded to Lamitan in Basilan, with Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol joining him, where he distributed 7 farm tractors and 70 motorized fiberglass bancas to members of fishery and farm sectors. P5 million worth of cheques were then distributed to the city local governments of Isabela and Lamitan.
