25 Sep Earthquakes Hit Bukidnon-Lanao Del Sur Area
In an article posted by Inquirer.net, minimum of four earthquakes shook several areas of Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur last Sunday, September 24, within five hours.
According to the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the first quake happened at 1:48 AM and has 4.4 magnitude in the Northern Part of Wao, Lanao del Sur. The second and strongest quake was around 4:47 AM with a magnitude of 5.4 and reached Kalilangan Bukidnon at Intensity VI and Cagayan de Oro at Intensity III. The third quake was around 05:18 AM with a magnitude of 4.1.
In addition, the last quake was around 05:30 AM with a magnitude of 4.1 which took place at Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
Phivolcs said that the origin of the earthquakes are tectonic and occurred at 2 to 14 kilometers depth that did not cause any major damages.
