In observance of the Holy Week, people have already set their days to be spent on places where they traditionally go with their families or friends. During those times, specifically on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, leisure establishments such as malls and even restaurants and offices are closed to commemorate this week-long celebration of self-reflect and realization of the sacrifices done by Jesus Christ for the salvation of everyone.
When Saturday comes, which is just a day before the anticipated Easter Sunday, business establishments are already back to operation. And when the Easter Sunday falls, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, there are events that are being hosted among big establishments in the city.
Specifically in Cagayan de Oro, there are bouts such as easter egg hunts and such. Here is a list of Easter Sunday events in Cagayan de Oro.
Centrio Mall’s Love ‘Em Secret Surprises
On March 27, 2016, Easter Sunday is Centrio Ayala Mall’s Love ‘Em Secret Surprises. A big event that Kagay-anon families can enjoy. Composed of the Easter Sunday Mass, The Big Egg Hunt, Arts & Crafts, larger Than Life Games! and Live Easter Bunnies!
In order to get to participate to these series of activities, one must provide the following requirements:
- For the Arts & Crafts, present a minimum purchase single/accumulated receipt worth P300 at the Corrales Concierge Booth to get an Arts & Crafts Card available for the first 30 kids ages 6 to 12 years old.
- In order to get your kids to participate for The Big Egg Hunt, just present a minimum purchase of P1000 worth of single/accumulated receipts at CM Recto Concierge booth on March 19 to 27, so you’ll be given an Easter Egg Hunt pass only for the first 80 kids ages 4 to 10 years old.
SEDA Centrio’s Easter Lunch Buffet and Easter Zooland
Just beside Centrio Ayala Mall is SEDA where there will be an Easter Lunch Buffet and an Easter Zooland children’s party. For the lunch buffet, it will be at the 4th floor, Misto Restaurant starting from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For the Easter Zooland which is an Easter Children’s Party, with a nett per child of P650, it already includes a complimentary use of the pool, fun activities, games and prizes, kiddie lunch and drinks, and loot bags.
Limketkai Luxe Hotel’s EASTERtale
At KaVe Restaurant and Bar is LKK Luxe Hotel’s Eastertale. It will be consisted of the Easter Tales and Adventure and the Easter Brunch Buffet. The former provides complimentary snacks and drinks, lets you participate for the egg hunting and painting, face painting, story telling and Easter Adventure Games for kids ages 12 years and below starting from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN priced for P498 nett per child. For the latter, one can enjoy it at P598 nett per person starting from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
SM Cagayan de Oro’s EASTERrific at SM
This year’s Easter celebration of SM is promised to be the happiest and the most memorable. This is in line with their 30th anniversary.
On Easter Sunday is their Easter Egg Dive and Balloon Drop, “Eats of Easter” dining offers, Easter Parade, “Easter Moments” photo treat and the annual Costume Contest. The latter is a contest for children ages 3 to 12 years old.
Jollibee’s Easter Wonderland
At Limketkai Atrium is Jollibee’s Easter Wonderland event. This is exclusively for kids, with the goal of enhancing their knowledge, skills and socialization with fellow kids. You can get to meet Jollibee and his friends to take a selfie and have fun. This is a costume event, so you can wear your favorite DISNEY costume.
Tickets are available at Jollibee Centrio Ayala. P150 is for kids that is already with food, drink and lootbag while P50 for adults given food and drink.
