14 Dec Extension Of Martial Law In The Whole Mindanao Was Granted
In an article posted by Inquirer.Net, the extension of Martial Law for Mindanao has been granted by the Congress of the Philippines. This will last for another year- starting January 1 to December 31, 2018.
This was requested by President Rodrigo Duterte since the threats of terrorism and rebellion in the region is still visible.
During the special joint-session last Wednesday, the Senate voted 14 Yes and 4 Nos . While the House of Representative voted 2263 Yes and 23 No which has a total of 240-27 votes in favor of the extension.
Note that President Duterte implemented the “batas-militar” last May 23 after the attacked of Maute ISIS Terrorists in Marawi City.
