01 Dec Face Shield Policy To Return If Omicron Variant Enters PH
Mga higala! The FACE SHIELD policy will be implemented again once the COVID-19 Omicron variant is detected in the Philippines!
Higher alert levels will then be imposed in all the affected areas.
This was said by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año in a recent press briefing.
BTW, National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez also talked about the possibility of the face shield policy’s return due to the Omicron threat.
He even emphasized that some people from the (WHO) believed that the Philippines was able to fend off the Delta variant because of the added protection provided by face shields.
ICYDK, Omicron or B.1.1.529 was recently discovered in South Africa and was tagged by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a variant of concern. It has also been detected in Australia, Canada, Israel, Italy, Hong Kong, and more.
