06 Mar Flood Prone Residents Urge For Faster Construction of Mega Dike Project in CDO

Residents are now requesting to accelerate the construction of billion-peso mega dike projects in flood-prone areas of Cagayan de Oro City, especially in Brgy Macasandig.
This was what most Kagay-anons expressed during a recent public consultation conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways’ Central Office.
In regards to this, DPWH Central Office Engineer, Gil Entoralde stated that they are doing their best to implement the mega dike’s swift construction. And added that this was delayed for years because of people who were opposed to the project.
As we all know, Brgy. Macasandig was one of the most affected areas during the flood of Bagyong Sendong which claimed a lot of lives and damaged many properties in the city.
