16 Jan Father and Son Arrested in Drug Bust Operation in Brgy. Camaman-an
In a drug buy-and-bust operation, authorities have arrested a father and son as they were responsible for smuggling illegal drugs in Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City on Thursday morning, January 12.
According to a report from Bombo Radyo, the suspects were identified as Francisco Zarausas Jr., the father, who was a Tokhang surrenderee at Cogon Police Station and also a carpenter.
While his son, Jonathan Zarausas, married, a pedicab or “sikad” driver, also a resident of the said place was arrested.
Macasandig Police Station commander C/Insp Basman Macarangal said that they bought suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as shabu from the suspects worth P300 which prompted them to arrest the suspects.
Drug paraphernalia, several sachets of shabu and an improvised glass pipe were confiscated from the suspects.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Taxi Driver Arrested
A taxi driver is now detained at a police station as he was attempting to pass through a checkpoint established by the police officers from Agora Police Station and RPSB-10 at CM-Recto Street, Cagayan de Oro City.
The driver was identified as Rizaldy Gutierrez, 48 years old, married and is a resident of Zone 3 Brgy. Agusan, according to Bombo Radyo.
A transparent sachet which believe to have contained the suspected shabu was confiscated.
Gutierrez will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
