FDA Declares Lucky Me! Instant Noodles In PH “Safe For Consumption”

Mga higala! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Philippines has declared the following variants of Lucky Me! instant noodles as safe for consumption:

  • Pancit Canton Extra Hot Chili
  • Pancit Canton Regular
  • Pancit Canton Chilimansi
  • Instant Mami Beef Regular

According to their advisory, the affected batches with high levels of ethylene oxide (based on the alert from the European Union) were manufactured in Thailand and were not locally produced and distributed in the country.

Moreover, the FDA disclosed that the tests conducted by an independent laboratory in Vietnam (on our local Lucky Me! products) have determined that ethylene oxide was not detected in the variants mentioned above.

And, although the said chemical was found on Pancit Canton Kalamansi, it is still safe for consumption since it’s at a level below the EU’s acceptable level of 0.02 mg/kg.

Watch out for updates!
