07 Dec Fil-Am leader Loida Lewis calls for Duterte’s resignation
Filipino-American community leader Loida Nicolas Lewis has called for President Rodrigo Duterte to resign from his position after Vice President Leni Robredo resigned from the cabinet.
Lewis said there might be a plot to oust Robredo and replaced her with former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, who have been protesting the election results.
It was Duterte himself accused Lewis a plotter of ousting him weeks ago and now Lewis has spoken out and called for his resignation.
In an interview by ABS-CBN, Lewis said she had given Duterte a chance to prove himself by addressing poverty, crime, and corruption but the president resorted to killings.
Lewis added that the president made a promise to get rid of drugs and criminality in six months after being inaugurated however Duterte asked for an extension.
So his promise I will resign in 6 months if the drug epidemic is not solved, he should be true to that promise at least, no extension, resign now President Duterte,” she said.
