Mga higala! The first-ever BLACK WEDDING GOWN in Mindanao, which was used in an actual wedding ceremony, was recently spotted in Zamboanga City!

Photos of this unique gown were posted on Facebook, by the bride- Nnah Gail Strong-Traya. It caught the attention of netizens, who had mixed feelings about the said black wedding gown.

As what most of us would expect, even though the gown above looked beautiful and wonderfully unique, some people will always have negative reactions when something is not in line with their traditions of beliefs.

In response, the bride expressed in her post’s caption that:

“Hindi po ako magblack gown kung hindi namin paulit ulit na tinanong ang pari. May dala po ang designer ng Gown ko ng white na cover up, or pang patong sa black gown ko in case hindi ako papasukin ng church or magbago isip nila.

Pero, sabi pa ni Father you can wear any color you want because that’s your wedding, wala naman daw sa gown ang pagpapakasal, and for him Black Wedding Gown stands for bravery, courage and for being strong. Natuwa pa nga daw siya sa Prenup namin sa San Roque Cemetery kasi parang ready kami kung ano plano ng diyos sa buhay namin and it shows na we love each other till death.”
