01 Feb CDO Government to Allocate P4.8M for Fish Landing Project in Bonbon
In a report from Sun.Star, a fish landing project in Bonbon will soon rise as the city government of Cagayan de Oro will be allocating P4.8 million for its realization.
According to Rodolfo Yana, City Economic Enterprise officer, Bonbon was the chosen village for it is located seaside adding that the project will be having its own fish processing center, cold storage, and other facilities for fishing and storing fish.
P2.8 million of the total P4.8 million will be provided by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), with the remaining P2 million to be provided by the City Government.
It was in November of last year, 2016, when the City Council enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Oscar Moreno to be in an agreement with the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority. And as suggested under this said agreement, the Department of Agriculture (DA)-BFAR shall provide the city the criteria in selecting a site for the Community Fish Landing Center (CFLC), then review and approve the site in coordination with the PFDA and among others while the PFDA provide technical assistance in preparing the model design of the CFLC.
The city is to supervise the construction of the CFLC together with the aid of BFAR and PFDA to assure the contractor’s full compliance to the project with the approved engineering and technical design, as well as other terms and conditions in the contract.
