15 Sep Foreigner And Two Filipinas Arrested For Detaining Two Minors
In an article posted by Sunstar.com, a foreigner and two Filipino women were arrested by authorities after allegedly taking two minors and detaining them in the former’s residence in Cagayan de Oro City.
Chief Inspector Pedro Gorre Jr, Commander of the 1001st Maritime Police Station, the suspects were identified as Kane Andrews, 67, from New Zealand and his wives Jezelle “Lisa” Acdel-Andrews from Agusan del Norte and Angeli Palaran from Bayawan Negros Oriental.
The City Prosecutor’s Office described that the suspects have willfully, unlawfully, feloniously and knowingly kidnap, detain and deprived the liberty of two children who are 4 and 6 years old.
The Andrews was arrested based on the testimony a certain “Annie” who came to the Police Station to ask for a certification so she could board a boat going to her place in Negros Oriental.
According to Annie, she only escaped the residence of Andrews last Saturday morning because she could no longer endure living with the suspects.
She added that she first met Andrews in an online dating site. Andrews went to the country to meet Annie in person and then they moved to Andrew’s recent house. While they are together, Andrews had another relationship with Lisa which he eventually married.
The three of them are living together where Andrews alternately sleep with the two.
Further, Andrews told her to go back to Negros Oriental to find and adopt children for him. That’s why Annie brought two minors, “Nene”, 4 years old and “Rain”, 6 years old.
From the investigators, these kids were detained inside the house and it was alleged that Andrews took photos and sent these to the men online.
As of this writing, the two kids were brought to the custody of the Department of Social and Development (DSWD) while the suspects can face more cases as the investigation continues.
