02 Aug Former CDO Archbishop Dies @ 89, Wake Held In St. Augustine Cathedral
Mga higala! Retired Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Emeritus Jesus Tuquib has died yesterday, August 1, at the Maria Reyna-Xavier University Hospital due to a lingering illness. He was 89 years old.
Tuquib was the archbishop of the city’s Roman Catholic archdiocese for 18 years, from 1988 until his retirement in 2006.
His remains are now at the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral for public viewing and will be interred following a funeral mass on Wednesday, August 7.
