03 Jun Global Bubble Parade in CDO: The First of Its Kind in Southeast Asia
Held last May 29, Global Bubble Parade (GBP), which is an international “movement of passionate individuals who share the belief that happiness is the journey, not the destination, by joining together in peaceful local parades of soap bubbles”, brought happiness at Xavier Ecoville here in Cagayan de Oro. It is the first of its kind not only in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia as well.
The said event aims at promoting diversity, resiliency, and positive interactions among individuals within communities. The brainchild of the 100happydays Foundation.
The said parade was named by coining the words “Ambit Kalipay” which means “share happiness”. Taking part of the parade is the community from Xavier Ecoville, the resettlement village that was built 4 years ago for the victims of Typhoon Sendong. Now, the existence of Ecoville stands as a testament to the resiliency of the affected families who survived the calamity.
After the parade, the event continued with games and a showcase of performances by local talents and the children of Xavier Ecoville. Kids were also given ice cream to make sure that everyone goes home with a smile.
