In a report from Sun.Star, telecommunication companies and providers are to be invited in a meeting which is yet to be set by the Cagayan de Oro City Council with regards to the poor internet service that consumers have experienced especially in the past months.

With the entry of numerous BPOs in the city, of which such businesses rely on internet connection, the issue of the slow internet connection should be given attention as for City Councilor Edna Dahino, she was worried that this will jeopardize the mentioned industry, as well as the e-commerce in the city. And aside of the consistently slow internet connection, consumers pay excessively high fees for such services.

According to City Councilor George Goking who is the chair of the trade and commerce committee, they’ll be having the meeting on February 7, 2017 with telcos and other internet service providers to provide an explanation concerning the slow internet connection.
