12 Dec Government Prohibits Firework Vendors along Jr. Borja Street
Cagayan de Oro has recently banned local firework vendors from displaying their products at their usual spot along Jr. Borja Street.
CDO’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) confirmed this information and is currently working with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to monitor all vendors.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Samson Velarde said that BFP is currently assisting the sellers to acquire special permits. They prohibited the fireworks due to its possible dangers to the increase of different structures in the area. He also added that in case of any fire incidents during this season, these fireworks may escalate the danger to nearby civilians and establishments.
However, there’s no need to worry. The firework vendors just need to find a new location to exhibit and they can continue selling their products.
