18 May Government Releases P8K Financial Aid to Angkas Riders Under SAP
As confirmed by chief transport advocate of the motorcycle-taxi company– George Royeca, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has started distributing cash assistance to all Angkas riders under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the government, amounting to P8,000.
Both the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) acted as facilitators in releasing the financial aid to the said riders, who are based in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, and Metro Manila.
Some riders have already received the SAP payouts, however, some are experiencing problems such as submitting incorrect SAP forms, incomplete addresses, and misspelled names.
