18 Aug Cogon Market Launches “Grand Pahina” Clean Up Drive

In an article posted by Cagayan de Oro News Bulletin, the City Economic Enterprises Department (CEED) in partnership with the CUMVA officials kickstarted the “grand pahina” program which aims to maintain the cleanliness of the environment around Cogon Public Market Area.
According to the CEED Stakeholder Focal Person Jocelyn Penalosa, there will be a “grand pahina” to be conducted monthly apart from the the daily cleaning of the stalls in the market.
Penalosa said the activity also served as a motivation to vendors to aim for more profits through putting more efforts in cleaning the surroundings of their stalls and around the market.
The cleanup operation is also part of the Solid Waste Management effort that was implemented by CEED with the help of the City Local Environment and Natural Resources (CLENRO).
The cleaning operation will also be implemented soon to other markets in the city for the benefit of the vendors and consumers.
