Mga higala! A groundbreaking for the first PLANETARIUM in Mindanao, to be located at Molugan, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, will finally be held this Friday, March 15, 2019.

This planetarium and science study center is said to be worth 50 million pesos and will encompass a half-hectare area.

This is a project of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) and is aimed to provide students with the opportunity to enjoy while studying planets, constellations and other astronomical objects without the need to leave Mindanao.

According to provincial legal officer Cerilio Neil Pacana, the planetarium will be state-of-the-art with a full dome projector that mimics a 3D reality minus the special glasses. It will also feature a slight tilt of the chair to create an impression of the vastness of space.
