LOOK: Hawksbill Sea Turtles Flourishing In Misamis Oriental Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Mga higala! Critically endangered hawksbill sea turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) are now thriving in the province of Misamis Oriental, due to the lack of humans and other disturbances during the current COVID-19 pandemic!

According to a recent article of INQUIRER.net, the barangays of Candiis and Bonifacio Aquino in the Municipality of Magsaysay have released 633 turtle hatchlings this 2020, which is more than twice of the 315 total hatchlings released last year.

246 of these were set free just this June.
