04 Jun House Of Representatives Approve Bill Mandating Employers To Hire PWDs

Mga higala! The House of Representatives has recently approved House Bill 9106, which aims to encourage employers to hire persons with disabilities (PWDs).
According to a report by The Philippine Star, this measure seeks to grant additional privileges to PWDs and implement mandatory employment in government offices and corporations, including the private sector.
If signed into law, this will require all government agencies, offices or government corporations to fill at least 2% of their workforce with qualified PWDs, while private corporations with more than 1,000 employees will need to allocate at least 2% of all positions and 1% for those with less than 1,000 employees.
House Bill 9106 now needs to be approved by the Senate.
