21 May House Approves Mandatory ROTC For Grades 11 & 12 In Public/Private Schools

Mga higala! The House of Representatives has approved House Bill 8961, which will make the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps or ROTC mandatory for Grades 11 and 12 students, of both public and private schools.
The House voted 167-4 for the measure, on third and final reading yesterday, May 20.
ICYDK, President Rodrigo Duterte earlier said that he wanted to require military training for senior high school students to “instill patriotism” and “love of country among our youth.”
