Mga higala! The House Committee on Appropriations has endorsed a bill that will allow early voting for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) in both local and national elections!

ICYDK, if passed, the bill will permit the said sectors to vote within 7 working days before the official voting date of an election.

This will then help reduce the crowd in precincts during the regular election day (especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic) and will give the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and its election administrators more time to process ballots.

BTW, based on COMELEC’s records, the Philippines currently has around 8.8 million voting senior citizens and over 350,000 PWDs.
