29 May Ian Lariba, CdeO-born olympian, is in need of blood donors
La Salle alumni and athletes, united as one, as former La Sallian athlete Ian Lariba needed blood donors (Blood Type “O”).
Ian Lariba competed for the Philippines in the 2016 Rio Olympics and has dominated the UAAP in table tennis. She is the first filipino table tennis player to qualify for the Olympics. She was one of the 4 co-winners for the UAAP Season 78 Athlete of the year award (Rappler.com).
Ian Lariba is from Cagayan de Oro City. Born and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lariba. Ian Lariba took her Secondary Education in Corpus Christi School (Macasandig).
She was nine years old when she discovered her passion for table tennis when her parents urged her to be productive during her summer break way back when she was still staying in Cagayan de Oro City.
Eventually, Ian’s talent’s spread and college recruitment from different universities knocked on her door. However, it was De La Salle University which Ian Lariba welcomed.
Then on, Ian became a famous UAAP athlete in here time. She was undefeated in all her singles matches, was named MVP of the UAAP thrice, led DLSU’s table tennis team to 3 championship and was twice named the UAAP Athlete of the year (Rappler.com).
However, the school and family of IAn have not released a statement regarding Ian’s condition.
